BuySellCarParts (“we”, “us”, “our”) is operated by Web Artisans Studio Pty Ltd (ABN 15 679 067 059), an Australian private company. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and store personal information when you use our website and related services.

We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), where applicable.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use BuySellCarParts, we may collect:

• Account details — such as name, email address, and password (stored securely).
• Seller contact details — phone number and, if you choose to share it, street address details used for paid contact unlocks.
• Buyer unlock details — email address used to verify access, receive unlock codes, receipts, and seller contact details after payment.
• Listing content — part details, photos, fitment, notes, and pricing you submit.
• Payment information — processed by Stripe. We receive payment status and related identifiers; we do not store full card numbers.
• Technical data — such as device/browser information, IP address, and basic usage logs needed to run and secure the service.
• Advertising and analytics data — information collected via cookies and similar technologies used by Google AdSense and Google Analytics (for example page views, approximate location derived from IP, device/browser details, and ad interaction data). Google may also use this information for its own purposes under Google’s policies.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to:

• operate accounts, listings, and the marketplace
• verify buyer email addresses before contact unlocks
• process unlock payments and prevent fraud or abuse
• deliver seller contact details to buyers who successfully unlock a listing
• send transactional emails (verification codes, receipts, unlock details, account notices)
• understand site usage and improve the platform (via Google Analytics)
• show advertising on the site (via Google AdSense)
• improve, secure, and support the platform
• meet legal or regulatory obligations

4. Sharing contact details after unlock

If you are a seller and enable contact sharing, buyers who pay to unlock a listing may receive the contact details you have chosen to make available (phone only, or phone and address). Those details may be shown in the product interface and emailed to the buyer.

If you are a buyer, your email address is used to verify you and deliver unlock-related messages. We do not sell personal information.

5. Advertising, analytics, and cookies

We use Google services on BuySellCarParts:

• Google Analytics — to measure traffic and how people use the site (for example which pages are viewed).
• Google AdSense — to display ads. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites.

6. Service providers

We use trusted providers to help run BuySellCarParts, including:

• Stripe — payment processing for contact unlocks
• Email delivery services — transactional messages
• Hosting and infrastructure providers — storing and serving the application
• Google — Analytics and AdSense as described above

These providers only process information as needed to perform their services for us, except where Google also processes information under its own policies for advertising and analytics products.

7. Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, including account operation, unlock records, payment reconciliation, dispute handling, and legal requirements. You may update seller contact details in your profile at any time. Account deletion requests are handled through the account settings flow where available.

8. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access or disclosure. No online service is completely secure; please use a strong unique password and keep your login details confidential.

9. Your choices and requests

You can usually access and update account and contact information in your profile settings. You may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold, subject to legal exceptions.

10. Overseas disclosure

Some providers (for example payment, advertising, analytics, or infrastructure services) may process data in other countries. Where that occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure information is handled appropriately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of BuySellCarParts after an update means you accept the revised policy.
