The ABS pump also known as a unit or modulator, is responsible for the correct functioning of the entire braking system. As soon as the ABS sensor detects differences in wheel speed, the pump regulates the brake fluid pressure throughout the system to prevent the wheels from locking when braking. ABS pump damage is usually caused by deteriorated brake fluid or damage to the pump controller.
The ABS pump consists of an electric motor, solenoid valves and a base to which the brake lines are connected. A diagnostic tester is required to bleed the ABS. You must always program the device correctly.
